Table rows follow your columns

No more choosing a base table before you start. Drop fields from wherever they live, and the table works out which rows to list.

One less thing to decide

The table editor used to open on a Base table picker. It was never really required — the first field you dropped set it anyway — but it read as a mandatory step, and it raised a question most people shouldn't have to answer.

The picker is gone. The rows simply follow your columns:

  • The first field you drop decides the rows: one row per order if you started with an order field.
  • Fields from related tables join on as columns, as before.
  • Start from the customer side and add an order field, and the rows switch to orders on their own, keeping the customer fields as columns. Previously that drop was refused.
  • The column list's heading tells you where the rows come from, so the choice is never hidden.

Fields that no table could host together are still greyed out before you try. Existing tables are untouched.
