Tables that total — per group, one column per value

A table can now total a measure per group instead of listing rows — revenue per store, orders per month and channel — with a totals line, subtotals, and one column per value when you split it. And a click on any line shows the rows behind it.

Totals per group

Switch a table to Summary at the top of its editor and its recipe reads like a chart's: what to Show (a metric, or a field added up, averaged or counted), Per what (up to three groups, a date by the month or the quarter), and optionally Split by a field. Every total — the line at the bottom, each group's subtotal — is computed by the database, so averages and unique counts stay right. Nest the groups in one column that folds, or give each its own column.

One column per value

Split by a category or a date and each of its values gets a column under each measure, with a total after them: revenue per store, one column per channel. Table | Chart, at the foot of the editor, draws the same numbers as a chart.

Top 8, and the rows behind a line

Show keeps only the first rows in the table's order — the top 8 stores by revenue, the latest 100 transactions — and the footer says so: Top 8 of 42 · by revenue. Click a line to see the rows behind it, ask Axi to explain it, hide it, or open those rows as a table of their own.

Ask Axi for one

Axi builds and edits summaries too: "a table of revenue per store, split by channel, as a heatmap" lands the whole thing — the measure, the groups, the split and the colours — and inside the editor, "only the top 5 stores" or "add the number of orders" changes the steps in front of you, marked changed by Axi. It formats and colours any table's columns the same way.
