A History you can read

A dashboard's History used to be the last twenty events as bare sentences — You moved a chart widget — with no word of which chart, and people's e-mail addresses in a tooltip. It now reads the way you'd tell it: who worked on the dashboard, when, and what they changed, widget by widget.

Sessions, not events

Changes are grouped into sessions — one person, or Axi, working without a half-hour break — under Today, Yesterday and the date. Each session says who, how much and when, with one line of what happened: Rebuilt Revenue by month · renamed the tab Regions → By region.

Before and after, in the editor's words

Every change names its widget and reads as before → after, in the words the editors use: Only · Country: France → Country: France or Germany, Look · Line → Bar, Place · row 3 → row 1. Adding a chart and setting it up is one line — Added · a line chart · Revenue — not a dozen, and a field changed three times in a row shows where it started and where it ended up. Hover a widget's name to light its card on the board; click it to go there.

Names, not addresses

People appear by name and you as You. Axi's changes carry the name of the person who asked — Axi for Paul — so you always know who wanted what, and the ones Axi made for you link back to the conversation they came from.

Since your last visit

The History icon carries a blue dot when someone changed the dashboard since you were last on it. Open History and a summary at the top tells you what happened — Marie rebuilt Revenue by month and renamed the tab Regions to By region; Axi added Gross margin for Paul — with Ask Axi about this, which hands Axi those changes along with your question, to find out what they mean for the numbers. Any session's ⋯ does the same for that session alone: Ask Axi about these changes. A blue line marks where you left off, and while History is open, the widgets and tabs that changed carry a dot too.

The whole history, filtered and searched

History no longer stops at the last twenty changes: it goes back to the first one, removed widgets' included, with the count beside the title and Earlier to load older days. Narrow it to people, to Axi or to the widgets that were removed, or search it for a widget, a value or a person.
