A GA4 export is one table
BigQuery sources that write one table per day — GA4's export, with events_20260101, events_20260102 and so on — now show up as one table, events_*, the name BigQuery queries them by. Until now each day was a table of its own: a year of GA4 meant 365 identical tables in the semantic layer, and a connection slow to create and slow to load.
What changed
- One table per family. Daily tables that share a prefix are read as a single table across all their days, with the columns of the newest one. Build charts, filters and questions to Axi on
events_*like on any other table. - Faster on large warehouses. Axiome now reads a warehouse's tables several at a time, so creating or refreshing a connection with dozens of datasets takes seconds instead of minutes — and a very large schema stays cached instead of being read again on every page.
Filtering on a date doesn't skip days yet, so every query on events_* reads the whole export: keep an eye on query costs if yours is large.
