Forecasts that read further back
A chart's forecast can now read the history before the chart's dates. Turn on Earlier history under a chart's Forecast: a chart of the last 12 months still shows twelve months, and its forecast reads up to three years of them — with the seasons that come back every year.
What changed
- Short charts, longer memory. The chart keeps its own dates; its forecast also reads the periods before them, up to 2 years of days, 4 years of weeks, 3 years of months or 2 years of quarters.
- A year of months is enough. Twelve months by month are too few to forecast on their own: a forecast by month needs 24. With the months before them, the chart gets one.
- It says how far back it read. Hover any forecast period: from 36 months of history. In the editor, the row says what it found before the chart's dates.
- Once a day. It reads your warehouse at most once a day for each person who sees the chart, and only the periods before the chart's dates.
