Filters in plain words
A tab's filters used to be read in pieces: a date pinned to one end of the row, a little number stuck to the corner of a pill, and a second popover to find out what it counted. The row now reads left to right, as a sentence — This year · Country France — and a brand-new dashboard opens on a question instead of a blank board.
The row reads as a sentence
The date comes first, because it is the one filter every widget answers to. Then one pill per filter, in words: the field, the operation, the value. + Filter closes the row.
Click any pill and everything about that filter is in one place: what it matches, which widgets it applies to, and which it skips — with the reason for each, and a tick to include or exclude a widget yourself.
The count only speaks when it has something to say
A filter that reaches every widget it could now says nothing at all. When one is skipped, an amber 5 of 7 appears inside the pill, and the widgets left out keep their amber funnel. A badge on every pill was a badge nobody read.
Dates: a period, or two dates
The date popover opens on A period — Today, Last 30 days, This month, Last quarter, laid out as a grid — because a period is what keeps a dashboard current. Between two dates pins it instead. And which date each widget uses has moved into the same window, under Change per widget, rather than hiding behind a separate badge.
A new dashboard asks you a question
An empty dashboard now opens on What should this dashboard show?, with a box under it: describe the board you want and Axi builds it. Under that, a few common starting points to click instead of typing, and — last — the five widget types, for when you already know exactly what you want.
