Colour by value, and a format for every column

A table's numbers can now say what they mean in colour — a heatmap, bars, two colours around a target, or just the values that meet a rule — and every column can print the way you read it: a currency, a percent, a month, a code.

Colour by value

Open a column's menu and pick Colour by value: a heatmap from light to dark, bars behind the numbers, above and below a midpoint (up is good, down is good), a highlight for the values that meet a rule (above 1,000 → Good), or one colour per value for a text column, in the charts' colours. Each pattern shows a preview, and every colour is the app's own. Colour the numbers, in Appearance, colours every number of the table on one scale, with its legend at the table's top right.

A format for each column

Format, in the same menu, prints a number as a currency or a percent — read as it is, or from a fraction — with the decimals, separators and negatives you choose; a date by day, month, quarter, year, in ISO or as 3 days ago; text wrapped or as code, and what an empty value says. The last line shows what the column now prints.

Rename, resize — and it stays

Rename gives a column a name of its own on the table. A column you widen or narrow by the edge of its header keeps that width, for everyone, next time too.
