Balances like MRR now combine with metrics from other tables
A balance now sits beside metrics from any other table. MRR, stock on hand, an account balance — any measure read at the last (or first) value of each period — used to be refused next to a metric from another table. It now shares a chart or a table with them, grouped by the fields they share.
What changed
- One chart, several tables. MRR next to NPS by segment, stock on hand next to sales by store and month: each table is read at its own last value of the period, then the results line up on the shared fields.
- Metrics built across tables run. A metric that mixes a balance with figures from another table — opening MRR (MRR less the period's movements), net revenue retention — now runs, dbt-imported ones included. A dbt import no longer reports them as failing to compile, so a dbt push from CI is no longer held for review because of them.
- A balance beside a measure dated another way. On one table, a balance and a measure with its own aggregation time axis share a chart along the shared date.
One limit stays: a balance can't share a chart with a running total or a previous-period comparison yet.
