Axi reads your table and column descriptions
Axi now reads what your administrators wrote about your data — the display names and descriptions of your tables and columns, and the definition of each metric — whenever it answers a question, not only when it helps you model.
What changed
- Your team's words find the right data. Ask how many tickets came in through the in-app widget, or how many venues are temporarily closed, and Axi finds the column whose description explains the term, even when no table or column is named that way.
- Display names count. A table's or a column's display name is read alongside its technical name — on a dashboard, in View mode and on Home.
- Metric definitions, spelled out. Axi reads each metric's definition — the aggregation, the column, the rows that count — and works from it when it computes that number itself in a written answer. A card or a chart still gives the metric's exact figure.
- Large warehouses too. On a warehouse too large to fit in one conversation turn, Axi looks the descriptions up along with the rest of the schema when it needs the details.
The descriptions you write, by hand or with Axi in Settings → Workspace → Data, and those a dbt import brings in, now pay off in every conversation.
